VIETNAM IS AN IDEAL INVESTMENT DESTINATION FOR KOREANS

According to a Ministry of Planning and Investment report, by June 2022, Korea will be the leader in the number of newly granted projects, with 160 projects totaling up to 330,87 million USD in newly-registered capital.

According to the investment report for the first five months of 2022, Korea currently ranks second in foreign investment in Vietnam, accounting for over 2.66 billion USD, or 18.96 percent of total investment capital. Investment capital from Korea has increased by 12.6 percent over the same period and is primarily used to expand existing projects (currently accounting for 82.5 percent of capital). In terms of project numbers, Korea remains the partner with the most interested investors, making new investment decisions and expanding the most investment projects in the first five months of 2022, with 112 new projects (accounting for 19.4 percent of new projects, 35.9 percent of adjustments and 36.7 percent of times of capital contribution and share purchase).

Especially this year, the real estate sector has piqued the interest of Korean investors, who have poured billions of dollars into the Vietnamese market, more than doubling the proportion of investment in real estate. This figure is expected to rise from 10% in 2020 to 13% by November 2021.

Furthermore, many big Korean names, including Samsung, Lotte, LG, Hyundai, and CJ, have been and continue to conduct numerous billion-dollar investment deals in the Vietnamese market, resulting in a lot of money. Satellite investors with capital in the billions of dollars.

According to Mr. Do Nhat Hoang, Director of Foreign Investment Department (Ministry of Planning and Investment), speaking at an online seminar on promoting Korean investment in southern provinces, the two countries have achieved outstanding achievements in all fields after nearly 30 years of diplomatic relations. Korea is currently the largest investor in Vietnam, with almost 9,160 projects totaling 72 billion USD in investment capital.

This demonstrates Vietnam’s allure and potential, which Korean investors are always interested in and value. Vietnam is a secure and reputable destination, with a wide-open door for the future of FDI enterprises.
